After leaving MiMi & Pops house we headed back home. It is always sad leaving. When we got home we noticed that the History channel was playing a "real life" version of the Easter story. Apparently it had been playing for quite some time but we didn't know about it so we caught the last 4 days of the Easter story. We weren't sure if Hunter should watch it or not but he was so mesmerized, so we let him sit and watch it with us. He asked us a lot of questions like why the bad men were hurting Jesus and why they took his clothes. Since then he talks about Jesus and bad men a lot but he will always tell you that Jesus still loves the men that were mean to him. He is wise beyond his years!
Flash-forward to tonight. I was tucking Hunter in bed. Our conversation went like this:
H: Mommy, I want Jesus, and Santa, and the Easter Bunny to come sit on my couch. I want to hug them.
M: Yes, that would be nice. I bet they are best friends.
H: Oh I know they are. Mommy, I wish I was with Jesus when those bad men came. I would hug Jesus THIS tight and I would keep him safe from those bad men. Then I would bring him to my house with me.
M: {speechless}
H: But I don't want to go to heaven with Jesus yet. But if I do, I want you and Daddy and Sissy to come with me.
M: I understand, but Jesus will always keep you safe and heaven is a really special place to go to.
H: Well I would like to go on an airplane, ok?
I just absolutely love and adore my sweet baby boy and his pure spirit. I can honestly say I have so much to learn from him and I am thankful God gave him to me so I can do just that! Talk about precious moments!
