One of those moments

Every now and then there are moments in life that just make time stop. This was one of those moments. I had taken Lauran to the hospital to have her adenoids removed and her tubes put back in her ears. I was a bit nervous because they did have to put her under and use a breathing tube. It is never a simple procedure when it is your baby. But that wasn't what hit me so hard. I looked at her this morning and she was so beautiful, so big, so trusting, so calm, so pure and just so perfect. In moments like that I feel like I get a small glimpse of exactly what God intended our life to be. Be still my heart!

My sweet baby loved her "dress" and the bear the hospital gave her. She still sleeps with him and calls him her "soft bear."

The doctor gave her some medicine to help relax her so they could take her back without me. [I think Mommy could have used some of that.] It was so funny because she tried to grab my phone and was so out of it that she was reaching a foot away from phone. She looked so cute and innocent I just had to take her picture.

PawPaw came to be there with Mommy since Daddy had to get Hunter to school. He was a complete blessing, not only keeping Mommy calm throughout the surgery but also in trying to comfort Lauran after she was waking up.

I have heard horror stories about kids who wake up "grumpy" after the surgery, but GOODNESS!! She was incredibly grumpy for a couple of hours and then all of a sudden snapped out of it and was back to her normal silly and sweet self. I am so thankful to be surrounded by wonderful doctors that could help my sweet baby and for family to surround us during an uneasy time! Lauran did great in her surgery and has been feeling so much better since!
