First and foremost we are back among the living. Last week I took Hunter to the doctor because he was really congested and we found out that he had a double ear infection. Poor baby....it broke my heart. He felt so crummy that when we tucked him into bed, he didn't even pull his arms out from under the covers. That same day I told Clint I wasn't feeling well and I thought I was getting a sinus infection. Thank goodness Clint took off from work the next day because I was running a 101 fever. Daddy came to the rescue! He took care of sick baby and sick Mamma which I am sure was no easy task. A week later we are back among the living. Hunter is still really congested but he is not fussy so I am assuming his ears are no longer hurting. We go back to the doctor next week to check his ears and for his two month appt (and shots). :(
This week marked two big steps for little Hunter. First of all he started following us with his eyes and turning his head when he heard different voices to see where they were coming from. He still stares off into space frequently but it is so neat to see how much he grows daily. We also have a real smile now. And man he loves to smile at his Daddy. Clint can talk goofy and tickle Hunter and gets Hunter grinning so big we see gums. There is nothing more precious in the world than seeing your two loves enjoying each other!
Did I say two big steps? Make that three.... I don't know if it was the humidifier, medicine, change to formula, change in bottles, all of "Aunt B's lovin", or the fact that Grandma put him to bed, but on June 28th, Hunter slept 6.5 hours straight. The follow up night he slept for a 4 hour stretch so we hope we are finally on the path to success.
