EEK....my baby is 11 months old...meaning he is almost 1, meaning he is growing up WAY too fast!! And I am late on posting this so he is even closer to being 1. Tear! I am so incredibly thankful to have a healthy baby boy that is growing and learning and continues to reach major milestones, but I am slightly sad that the world won't slow down for me. Seems like this precious time is just going way too fast!
It is so funny to me that just last month I said, "Hunter can stand on his own now with no support. It started for like 3 seconds here and 2 seconds there but now he can stand for a while on his own now and can do it while shaking toys," because now he is practically running!!! I remember thinking that this walking thing would be a slow process, but I have been so amazed at how fast he went from pulling up, to standing, to walking, to walking with ease. It went so fast that it was almost as if I woke up one morning and he was just walking. He is so cute because he is bow-legged (sorry baby) and for quite some time he walked with his arms out like Frakenstien. He doesn't do that as much anymore as he is constantly reaching for things or carrying toys around now when he walks.
Other things Hunter has done this month:
- He has started copying me (and Clint). If I make funny noises with my tounge or a clicking noise with my mouth, he does the same thing. I was snapping my fingers and he studied my hands then looked at his hands and started wiggling his fingers....PRECIOUS! When Clint plays with him and growls, Hunter growls back. Or in the mornings when Clint stretches and makes funny noises, Hunter will do the same. It is truly amazing, but also a testament to how closely he watches us, so we better be on our best behavior!
- Hunter has started eating table food. How does he already know he wants what is on my plate, not what I fixed just for him? He is still pretty wishy-washy on eating but does pretty good. He seems to do better at the daycare....maybe he just likes eating lunch with his friends?
- Hunter is one sleepy head (and comes by it honestly)! On the weekends I will let him sleep and he will sleep in until 8am. Such a beautiful change from just a couple of months ago when we were still getting up 2-3 times a night. And he still takes naps too :)
- Since he is eating table food and walking the daycare is talking about moving him up soon. Next on the list is to replace his bottles with sippy cups (or at least be working on it) and the daycare will move him. I am hoping they hold off just a little bit longer so his friend Blake can move up with him.
- Hunter broke Mommy's heart because two days in a row he did not want to come home with me from daycare. He was just having so much fun he didn't want to leave.
- Hunter acts silly now. It is so funny because he knows he is being silly. He will put stuff over his head while he is walking and just laugh when you look at him. He will also roll around on the ground and laugh when he catches you looking at him. Too funny!
- Hunter still goes exploring in our house and friend's houses too. I have to keep my eye on him or he will disapper in to dark rooms. He will periodically stop and look back to see if he can spot me. I wish I could know just for a few minutes what is going on in that precious mind.
There are a million more things Hunter is doing daily and I could brag, I mean talk, about him all day! :) This week is going to be super busy as we get ready for his birthday party!!
