The weekend before Christmas we headed to Dallas for a long weekend with the Trachier family. This was the first time ever that we did this, which also meant it would be the first time ever that I was not at my parents house for Christmas morning. It was bitter sweet. Exciting to be starting new traditions with my family but hard to change something that has been so constant and wonderful for the past 27 years. We had a blast with my family.
Of course, the trip started off with a trip to Urgent Care. (We are becoming frequent flyers there). I had been tired and sluggish and not feeling well for a while.....compound that with all of the hustle and bustle of the holidays and it is a perfect recipe for a sinus infection. So one shot and pack on antibiotics later I was on my way to recovery! Just glad it was me this time, not Hunter like it has been the past two trips.
The fun started out with playing with Skylar and playing catch with Pops. Skylar was not very thrilled to play, but Pops was!
Reading the new Christmas book MiMi bought
Then the fun moved to O'ma's house for breakfast. Hunter loved playing with O'ma's angel.
And coloring
Nothing beats jumping on the couch with Pops
Too bad they couldn't play that game much longer because Pops hurt his back :(
So, Uncle Lance took over the jumping!
Hunter always loves the treats O'ma has ready for him
Hunter loves the chair MiMi bought him. But what is more fun than sitting in the chair? Pushing little people around in his chair.
Here they go...
O'ma is the best coloring partner
So excited to see what MiMi and Pops bought him for Christmas!
Tearing into it.....he figured that out fast!
Ahhhh....loving his new chair
Loved it so much, he sat in it to open more presents
Testing out his brand new basketball. Thanks Uncle Lance.
Looking good
Driving the new fire truck MiMi and Pops bought him
Checking out his new laptop
And the sweet baby even helped pass presents out
Bubble blowing lawn mower from Uncle Mike - Hunter LOVES bubbles
WOW - check out the fish MiMi and Pops bought Hunter. At first he was not 100% sure about the fish, but after he watched it for a few minutes he loved it! It is pretty cool if I do say so myself.
He even figured out how to control it himself
Chilling in his new chair with his new football. Life is great!
Playing with O'ma and Mr. Dwight
Uncle Lance showing Hunter MiMi's new tree. Hunter loved all of the "balls" on the tree. He got to touch them with one finger.
Uncle Lance showing Hunter his favorite. Hunter loved the musical horses and kept asking people to turn them back on for him.
Hunter also loved the legos from O'ma. He LOVES dumping them out and putting them back into the box. It keeps him entertained for a long while. Mom also got Lance, Britt, and myself special items (DVDs and musical soldiers) to remind us of our Aunt Mary. She may be gone but she will never be forgotten. It was really sweet of Mom to put that together for us!
We had a very merry early Christmas!!

It was a wonderful weekend!! New traditions are fun to start...old ones are hard to let go of.
