Happy Birthday Hunter

Happy Birthday Hunter!

Hunter Gerard Laskoskie was born on May 11, 2010 at 9:59 pm. He weighed 7.0 lbs and was 20.5 inches long. While I might not have so quickly agreed at about 2pm that day, labor and delivery went really smoothly. We were so blessed that both Hunter and myself were perfectly healthy.

I talked to my Dad a few days before Hunter was born and he told me that there are many different types of love. The love you have for your family, the love you have for your spouse, and the love you have for your children. It was hard for me to understand how I could possibly love anyone more or as strongly as I love my family and my husband but my Dad couldn't have said it any better. I love Hunter in a way that I didn't before know was possible. It was unending, unmeasurable love at first site! I have a totally new respect for my parents and the unconditional love they have had for myself and my siblings all of these years!

We had many visitors at the hospital and were very thankful for them stopping by and for the many many gifts they brought!

We had to take Hunter back to the hospital the day after we got released to have blood drawn to test for jaundice. The blood results came back normal so they said he didn't have jaundice and we didn't have to bring him back for more testing. What a blessing! It was so hard to hold him while they pricked his little foot and took his blood. But he only screamed when they wiped his foot before they pricked him. HaHa!
