Lauran was the sweetest baby ever. We had to be there at 5:45 and thought the surgeon would start at 6:30. We also thought she would be the youngest so she would be the first surgery of the morning. Wrong and Wrong. The surgeon didn't get there until after 7:00 and there was a baby younger than Lauran so she was second. The poor baby was starving but she was a perfect angel. She wasn't too sure about things but went with the nurse like a perfect angel. No tears or anything.
They had us a bit nervous because a couple of nurses and anesthesiologist kept asking us what surgery she was having done. We kept saying tubes, and they kept asking us, "just tubes?" Apparently they had it written incorrectly on the board and had planned to take out her adenoids too. Maybe we should have just gone with it as Hunter had to have those removed later but we weren't prepared for that. So just tubes it was! Scary to realize that doctor's could mess up too but fortunately they caught it before they took her back.
She was a little fussy when she woke up from the surgery but we gave her a bottle and she calmed down immediately. She took a four hour nap when we got home and has been the happiest baby ever since!! The surgeon said her ears were not infected at the time but there was a ton of fluid and pressure....so we know we did the right thing! I am thankful to have this behind us and pray this will give our baby girl the relief she needed!!
