Whirl Wind

Well since I have last blogged we had a whirl wind of events. So much has happened and at the same time so little has happened. Last I wrote we had taken Hunter to the doctor and he was diagnosed with an ear infection. That following weekend was a miserable weekend for Hunter and he just didn't seem okay so I took him back to the doctor on Monday. It was then he tested positive for RSV. When the doctor came in and told me he had RSV my heart sank and I was VERY scared. I asked her what we had to do and she said first we will test his lungs and decide from there. By some miracle Hunter's lungs were surprisingly ok. She told me that she could tell he was normally a healthy baby, very strong for his age, and that he must be a fighter because he was fighting off the RSV as best as she had seen in a while. BUT she said at his age it could change drastically in any moment and that we had to continue to watch him closely and listen to his breathing. He could start wheezing, loose oxygen levels, and possibly stop breathing. That is comforting for any parent...UGH! So we have spent the past week and a half with Hunter out of daycare just watching him breathe. The situation was and continues to be very scary but we are SO thankful that he is as healthy has he is throughout all of this.

After that I felt sick and Clint felt sick. I called the doctor and went in to see the doctor and told him that Hunter had RSV. I asked if we could get it and he said probably not but there is a lot that comes along with that virus that you probably will get. I ended up getting a sinus infection and bronchitis and Clint is still feeling crummy himself too. My doctor said he just has to get us through the first year where we catch a majority of the illnesses and viruses and then we will start to feel a lot better! So we have not been much fun for the past two weeks, have been staying inside and trying to get some sleep.

I know I still haven't really updated my 7 month blog so before he is 8 months here are some of the things he is doing:

- He is on a roll with his "b" sounds. There have been moments when we thought he might have said mama or dada but nothing clear.
- He can get around wherever he wants now. He doesn't crawl yet but pivots on his tummy and pulls himself with his arms or rolls to where he wants to be. He can now get up on all fours but doesn't know what to do when he gets there. I would say "come to MaMa" and he gets really excited and shakes his whole body but after he doesn't move anywhere he just reaches one of his arms out and gets sad that he can't get to me.
- We put the wheels on his jeep (walker) and he is moving around now. We normally put him in it in our bathroom when we are getting ready in the morning and in the kitchen when we are cooking at night. He can scoot around really good. Yesterday morning he "drove" up to me and hung on to my pajama legs. It melted my heart. It was like he finally made it to me so he wasn't letting go.
- My baby LOVES to snuggle. For quite a few of the nights when he was sick and wasn't sleeping well and we wanted to keep an extra close eye on him one of us would take him in the spare bedroom to let him sleep with us. No matter where you put him in the bed and how much space you gave him he would roll and pull until he was sleeping right up against you. So sweet.
- All except for when he was sick, he is eating baby food MUCH better. For the most part no more tears. He loves to "help" you feed him by grabbing the arm you are feeding him with. It ends up being much more messy that way. One time I told him that was enough because we had more food on the floor than anywhere else and he started crying....it hurt his heart (and mine) so he got to continue helping me :)
- Hunter likes to grab at anything and everything but especially any phone, camera, or remote control.
- Hunter is about to outgrow his car seat so we need to start looking asap but he has started to get to sit in high chairs when we go out to eat. He loves to look at other people and play with straws and napkins and all of the finer toys.
- His laugh is the cutest thing I have ever heard and he thinks his Daddy is the funniest guy on the planet. It is so precious to watch them play together.
- He is spoiled rotten, but for now I wouldn't have it any other way.

I can't believe how fast my baby is growing up. Even in our sick and sleep deprived state we are trying to take it all in and enjoy every moment.
