Happy New Year

I can't remember the last time I got to do something fun on New Year's because that is normally the last chance Clint has to go hunting, but this year our friends Dustin and Erin were having an engagement party on NYE so I actually got to do something fun :) The only bad news was that it was 3 1/2 hours away so I had to leave Hunter for the FIRST time over night. I was really nervous but knew he was in good hands, and I only teared up a little bit as I left him at Grammie and PawPaw's house NYE morning.

Dustin and Erin said we needed to be there by 1 because they were going to tell the wedding party where they decided to have the wedding (because they were planning a destination wedding). When we got there they told us where they were having the wedding....on her parent's land (where the party was to be), that night! What a wonderful surprise! They had already bought the guys suits and shoes and had everything decorated beautifully and ready to go. This was such a tight secret that Erin's brother-in-law, Dustin's siblings, and Dustin's grandparents had no clue that they were actually getting married that night. It was a beautiful ceremony and we felt very blessed to be a part of the occasion. We had a great time, but missed Hunter very much. But Mom you should be proud.....I only called 2 times to check on him.

Here are some pictures from the wedding...

The happy couple

First dance as Mr. and Mrs. Smith

Part 1 of the ceremony. The exchanged vow (that they wrote) and got their rings. Then part 2 started 1 minute before midnight where they were actually pronounced husband and wife.

1-1-11...what a neat wedding date!

Party Time!

Clint and I sending them off with sparklers (yes I was freezing and wearing Clint's suit jacket)

Dustin and Erin completed an IronMan this year so they put together a WeddingMan event on New Year's Day. You completed it with your spouse and it had a three-legged race, a laundry toss/catch, a blind folded/lead your partner section, an egg toss, and a sprint to the finish. For the records, Clint and I tied for second. If I had given him a better toss on the first piece of laundry we could have done even better! This is the group in our WeddingMan t-shirts.

We had a blast but were VERY ready to pick up Hunter. When we pulled into Clint's parents house I was trying to gather trash up to throw away and get my shoes. Before I knew it Clint had hopped out of the car and was racing inside to get Hunter. So I forgot about the trash and ran inside with him :) Hunter was SO excited to see us. He kept squealing with excitement. Clint picked him up and Hunter was just squealing, then he held out his hand to come to me. So I took him and loved on him and Hunter kept smiling and squealing then held his hands out to go back to Clint. He went back and forth between us at least 6 times. It felt so good to hold him in my arms again! Can't think of a better way to spend New Year's than with my two boys by my side!

Hope you all had a very happy and safe New Years!
