Quilting Progress

For quite some time now I have been "thinking" about entering the quilt world. I have been inspired by the work my Mom and Grandmother have been doing for years but of course I didn't find interest in learning to do it myself until I moved a couple of hundred miles away. So for Christmas Santa brought me a sewing machine. It just so happened that it was the same one that my Mom (and now Grandmother) has. Santa is so smart!

For my first project I decided to make Hunter a quilt. I got the idea from Arlene's daughter Jennifer who made her son John a chenille quilt. She posted very good instructions so I thought I would give it a try. My Mom came down to help me get started and here is where I am at. I know it is FAR from perfect but for my first try I don't think it is too bad! (Wish I would have taken more pictures as I have gone along but oh well)

I still need to add the red trim (or whatever the quilting term for that is) on two more sides, and then wash it to see it wrinkle up. Nap time is over now but I will post pictures once I get time to complete it.
