Recovering

Well, we are slowly recovering from Hunter's surgery. He is back to normal but it is taking us a while to recoup from the lack of sleep and constant attention that he required. The only reason we survived was MiMi. Her and Lauran got to be best buddies during that recover period because Hunter was GLUED to me and didn't want me to even look at Lauran. Thank goodness MiMi came! AND she came with "get well soon" gifts from herself, O'ma, and Aunt B.

We stayed holed up for a couple of days living off of popsicles, jello, and dinosaur movies. But about a week after the surgery we ventured out to the zoo. We thought it was going to be a disaster but once the meds kicked in, Hunter had an awesome time!

Hunter found this "prize" that he just couldn't live without. And he was so cute I just couldn't tell him no.

Then we happened to be by the giraffes around their lunch time, so Hunter got to feed the giraffes.

And he loved is so much he asked to do it again. As we were heading back up for the second time there was a little boy who said, "look Mommy, there is that brave boy." Apparently, Hunter got street credit for feeding the giraffe all by himself. :)

It was a great trip to the zoo and Hunter is still talking about it wanting to go back. There is no way I would have been able to do it without my Mom as she stayed put in the monkey area feeding Lauran, and fed her again during lunch. She also took Hunter on the merry-go-round which was a HUGE hit!

And who could forget the dinos? :)

OH look at that big one...

A nice lady at the zoo brought Hunter little dino playing cards. Hunter plays with them all of the time (yes even naked) and can tell you which ones eat plants and which ones eat meat. So cute! 

I am so thankful for MiMi and the help she gave me! I think if I asked her, her favorite time was spent doing this...

{And if she looks a little tired, cut her some slack....she took care of Lauran through the night for all 5 nights she was here AND didn't really ever get a nap. I am sure she was exhausted!!}
